DescriptionBring to life a variety of animated characters, creatures and more for use in animated media including XR Productions, animations, and real-time engines. Talents in drawing, modeling along with an understanding of film theory, editing principles, performance, and previsualization techniques. Work with other team members in an agile development environment to assess the needs of animation and XR productions and troubleshoot solutions. Develop animation workflows and tools to integrate into and improve upon existing studio development pipelines.
Responsibilities- Design and implement character animations using keyframing, mocap editing and procedural techniques.
- Uses industry leading 3D animation software such as Autodesk Maya, Unreal Engine, iClone and Blender to create quality animations that add immersion into the story and environment.
- Adopts motion capture data to iterate and integrate with animations.
- Develops, maintains, and creates animations for real time assets within a game engine.
- Collaborates to review and revise animations based on feedback, innovate workflows and tools for integration into current studio XR and animation pipelines.
- Integrate AI tools and techniques such as MetaHuman Animator to optimize workflow and enhance creative output.
- Participates in XR crew workload, functioning in an agile development environment to assess the animation needs of projects and troubleshoot solutions.
- No supervisory/management authority.
- Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Associate’s degree in visual effects, motion graphics, animation, or other related field and two (2) to five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Portfolio showcasing previous work in 3D animation preferred.
- Knowledge of traditional animation, illustration, and storyboarding workflows.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting problems, reviewing information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Knowledge of motion capture data integration, cleanup, and motion editing for narrative effect.
- Working knowledge of 3D principles and implementing animations into a game engine.
- Advanced knowledge of traditional animation principles and how they can be used to enhance story and user experience.
- Advanced knowledge of animation software such as Maya, Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine, Adobe Illustrator and Unity.
- Excellent written, communication, presentation, and computer skills.
- Ability to animate the human bipedal figure, character performances and other organic and inorganic forms.
- Ability to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Ability to prioritize work and successfully meet deadlines within an agile development team.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
